The Bible Mini series which aired on The History Channel sets a new record and reaches a new milestone of selling 1 million units across Blue-ray, DVD and DigitalHD platforms.

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey the creators of this epic 10 part mini series shared their joy as follows

we all know that this mini series has been one of the most watch television show when it was aired in the month of March bringing 100 million viewers. In the month of April it became the top selling DVD mini series in  its first week of release selling 525,000 copies.

Mary Daily, president and chief marketing officer of worldwide marketing at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, commented, "Millions of people embraced 'The Bible,' not only making it the television event of the year but also bringing it to unprecedented success with the home entertainment release in the US. We are excited about introducing this project to millions more as we launch internationally later this year."

Bible based movies are now into demand, after some of the great Biblical movies like ten commandments, Benhur still still people are loving watch more such movies. Now The Genesis based movie is in its making with Russell Crowe as the lead actor directed by Darren Aronofsky which is expected to hit theaters in March 2014. There are still more movies in their making inspired from both old and New testament namely Mary Mother of Christ which is coming as a prequel to Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" and remake of Benhur.

Burnett and Downey have previously said of the series' success as 
"We feel incredibly blessed that we were able to bring this amazing love story to life on the screen,"

"It is our hope that folks everywhere will continue to be touched by the message of the Bible and cherish these stories at home with their families for years to come. This is just the beginning."
The Bible is scheduled to begin airing internationally later this year followed by the miniseries.
