Proverbs 16:9 says "Life and death are in the power of the tongue." God created our words to have creative power. What follows the two simple words, "I Am", will determine what type of life you have and will either bring success or failure in your life. Instead of saying negative "I Ams", - "I am unfocused. I am never going to succeed", say what God says you are. Declare "I am blessed, confident, loved, accepted." When you change your "I Ams," your life will change for the better. The seeds of greatness God's placed on the inside will spring forth.

“Whatever follows “I am” is going to come looking for you.”
Now, THAT is powerful. And every time I think about it, it becomes even MORE true. Think about it. I realize that most of the time, my “I am” is followed by a negative word or phrase. I am scared. I am stupid. I am not good enough. I’m not strong enough. When I speak, my ears hear those words and the more I hear it, the more I believe it. And in turn, I will become what I believe.

We are powerful beings. Even more than we think. So much of our power comes from the words we speak into the universe. We dig ourselves into early graves by constantly speaking without thinking first. Doubt, fear, low self-esteem, worry, incompetence, a frayed sense of self-worth, feeling useless, tired, stressed, lost – all of these things end up looking for us, following us around, surrounding us, swallowing us up. I refuse to continue to let my own mouth pull me away from what I already know.

I have the power to change not only my thinking, but my situation, just by my words. So…
I am beautiful.
I am strong.
I am capable.
I am equipped.
I am lovable and loved.
I am prosperous.
I am disciplined.
I am full of purpose.
I am loyal.
I am awesome.
I am powerful.
I am an amazing woman.
Those are the words I want to come looking for me. Those are the affirmations I want to cling to me. This realization also reminds me of a scripture, Proverbs 18:21, “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.” So true. We speak life and death through our words.

This message from Joel Osteen will renew your mind. How powerful our words are, no matter how small we think they are. We hear things like

“I am so tired today”
“We are so broke”
“We never have enough money to pay our bills”
“My business is growing slowly” OR “Nobody is doing anything in my group” OR “I just can’t sponsor anyone good!”
Change these to:

I have tons of energy and I feel fantastic!!
We always have more than enough money and God always provides
Our bills are always paid in full in month
My business is on fire! my distributors are all working hard and duplicating my efforts!
Each person I sponsor is better than the last!

Examine Your I AM… What are you speaking over YOUR life?
